Issues Printing in HUB using Internet Explorer

A recent Windows Update has caused an issue where users may experience problems printing pages in HUB (Student Center, Faculty Center, and Administrative Access) when using Internet Explorer. Pages may print blank, with text saying “You are not authorized for this page”, or a pop-up dialogue containing an error may be encountered when printing. The vendor is aware of this issue and is working on a resolution.

Please use Google Chrome or Firefox to print HUB pages; these browsers are unaffected.

HUB Fluid Interface Implemented

The Student Center and Faculty Center continue to function normally when accessed through MyUB, this only applies to the administrative portion of HUB.

HUB Fluid Interface Highlights/Best Practices

The HUB Fluid Interface will be implemented tomorrow (Saturday 1/7/17). This guide also contains some cautions about working in multiple windows and using the back button.

HUB Fluid Interface Coming Soon!

A major initiative that the University has been working towards is making our online systems more mobile friendly to our users. HUB is no exception to that goal- we will begin the process of making the system more mobile friendly next month. The first phase of making HUB mobile friendly is to roll out the HUB Fluid Interface. This will improve the navigation of the system for administrative users and allow us to roll out additional mobile features down the road.

On January 7th, 2017, the HUB Fluid Interface will be implemented. Navigation of the system will change, however the pages themselves will not be changing. This change affects only administrative users’ navigation. HUB Student Center and HUB Faculty Center navigation will remain unchanged at this time.

Please see the following training guide as an initial overview of the new HUB Fluid Interface, screenshots of the new navigations, training dates, and future phases, http://www.buffalo.edu/hub/staff/pdfs/fluidGuide.pdf. Please note: the actual screens will be UB blue as they currently are now, not green. Training sessions will be a drop-in time to view the user interface and ask questions. There will be no formal presentation or program, so you may stop by anytime during the session. Training sessions on the South Campus will be published once times are confirmed.

Additional training guides and implementation information will be coming over the course of the next two weeks. The HUB  & Student Systems Support Team will be working to create Navigation Collections with the campus to have them in place for when we implement on January 7th.
